Aberdeen & Grampian Highlands
The Grampian area is one of the largest regions in Scotland, comprising the former counties of Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Kincardineshire and Morayshire.
Angus & Dundee
Dundee is Scotland's fourth biggest city and is sometimes referred to as the largest village in the world. This title has, no doubt been gained by the friendliness of the natives and the fact that, when you walk down the High Street, everyone seems to know one another.
Argyll, Stirling and the Trossachs
This is a large area covering the sea-cracked western coast of Scotland from the foot of the Great Glen, south to the Mull of Kintyre and, all the way to its border with Fife, a huge diverse section of the interior.
Ayrshire & Arran
Ayrshire is the birthplace of Open Golf, with Open Championship courses at Troon and Turnberry, and the site of the very first British Open at Prestwick. 2004 saw the return of the Open to Royal Troon when the world's best players competed in July for the coveted Claret Jug.
Dumfries and Galloway
Edinburgh & Lothian
Edinburgh, like most of the Lothians, is set on the wide plain of the River Forth with volcanic left-overs such as Castle Rock and Arthur's Seat being the most prominent natural heights. Around these hills 'Auld Reekie', as it was known before the days of smokeless fuel, grew and prospered.

Fife
On Fife's eastern-most stretch of coastline is a timeless gathering of ancient fishing villages, little changed and still little discovered judging by the tranquil air of their quayside streets and alleys. Each has its own particular character and charm, recalling times when they were all thriving sea-ports trading with the Low Countries and Scandinavia.
Glasgow
'Glasgow's Alive' - in fact a gross understatement of a city which has seen a remarkable transformation over the last 20 years or so into one of the most vibrant, welcoming, characterful, cosmopolitan cities in Western Europe.

Highlands
It is impossible to describe the highlands and do it any justice. The beautiful Highland glens are framed by their own private sky. If you let your eye follow the horizon you discover new frontiers and exciting possibilities.
Orkney
Perthshire
Perth is the communications centre for this part of Tayside and long referred to as the 'Gateway to the Highlands' although the hills are still a fair drive on. The 'Fair City' as it is also dubbed, with its tall spires and shallow River Tay flowing through it, is surrounded by two wide parklands.

Scottish Borders
Despite acting as a crash barrier through many tumultuous centuries between Britain's two largest countries, the Borders is now one of the most peaceful and gentle of Scottish regions. Its rolling country roads and picturesque villages, compared to other regions, are quiet, even at their busiest times.
Shetland Islands
Western Isles
The real beauty of these wild outer-lands is in their natural form. Man's interaction has done little to disturb this and it is, no doubt, the remoteness from modern civilisation that has helped to preserve some of the most essential elements of the place.
